About

What's In A Name?

By using the mildest ingredients that are naturally derived whenever possible and avoiding the most commonly overused ingredients such as Sulfates, Parabens, and PVP copolymers (plastic), our products reflect this peaceful, healthful philosophy. Our key technology is a biopolymer that keeps the scalp free of impurities, leaving hair healthy and vital.
Our products can be used daily and do not build up on the scalp clogging follicles, leaving a healthy foundation for hair to grow in and will not clog follicles.
Some studies have shown that not caring for your scalp can leave your hair flat, dry, and limp. This is because your scalp is an extension of your skin and should get the same care and attention as the skin on the rest of your body.

Our goal is to inspire stylists and their clients to add a little Zen to their lives. We hope that our products will help them take responsibility for the harmful fumes produced in salons (and in homes) - and encourage them to use healthier, more eco-friendly styling options.

OUR MISSION:
To advance the perception of hairstyling as a career by adding value to the profession through the creation of products and tools which will enhance the level of professionalism throughout the industry.

We do this by helping Salon owners strengthen and grow their business, providing a higher level of product education, boosting skill and knowledge to increase sales, and retain their staff through better retail commissions. Imagine, one bottle of shampoo could increase your stylists hourly rate anywhere between $8-$15 per hour, while leaving the salon with an equal amount of profit.

What's In A Name?

A Zen approach to style. Saijojo (pronounced "sigh-joe-joe") is one of the five types of Zen. It means "great and perfect practice" and is the expression of life in its purest and most natural form, and the realization of true nature.

About The Company

Saijojo is the brainchild of hairstylist Mario Verrilli, who struggled with difficult hair himself and later struggled with hair loss.

After struggling with scalp and skin conditions linked to sensitivities to the toxic chemicals found in most products, Mario decided to create clean styling products that would be kind to the scalp and our waterways.

He took his idea to the experts - as fate would have it, he met an experienced and highly innovative research chemist specializing in environmentally-friendly coatings and water-based resins. They learned that alternatives would work instead of PVP copolymers (plastics) as a holding agent, and a breakthrough product - and a revolution in healthy haircare - was born.
